Cable industry jobs encompass manufacturing, installation, and technical support for electrical and telecommunications networks, with roles focusing on quality control, production, and field installation. Key positions include cable technicians, manufacturing supervisors, and engineers, responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic and coaxial cables for data, voice, and video transmission.

Manufacturing Roles (Wire & Cable Production)
  • Production Supervisor: Oversees day-to-day operations (wire drawing, insulation, stranding), manages shift schedules, and ensures production targets are met.
  • Quality Control (QC) Lead/Inspector: Maintains ISO 9001 compliance, performs electrical/physical testing (high voltage, conductivity), and manages QC staff to reduce rejects.
  • Assembly Technician/Operator: Assembles, cuts, strips, and labels cables, crimps terminals, and inspects finished components.
  • Maintenance Engineer: Plans and executes preventative maintenance for manufacturing machinery (extrusion machines, drawing machines) to reduce downtime.

Field & Technical Roles (Installation & Maintenance)
  • Cable Technician/Installer: Installs, terminates, and tests coaxial or fiber optic cables in residential/commercial settings; troubleshoots service issues.
  • Cable Splicer: Joins primary and secondary cables underground or on utility poles for utility and telecommunications companies.
  • Field Surveyor/Technician: Surveys job sites, plans cable layouts, and produces documentation for construction.
  • Data Center Engineer: Handles the physical installation or decommissioning of network infrastructure in data centers.

  • Cable Engineer/Design Engineer: Designs cable networks, prepares technical specifications, and creates BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Tendering/Marketing Engineer: Prepares bids for electrical projects, analyzes tender specifications, and works with procurement.
  • Sales Manager/Executive: Handles B2B sales for industrial, power, or specialty cables to contractors and EPCs.

  • Technical: Knowledge of electrical standards (BIS, IEC), experience with extrusion/machinery, and AutoCAD for designers.
