Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems in vans, trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to keep vehicles in good working condition
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, gearboxes and clutch systems
- Inspect and repair braking systems, suspension systems, steering systems and drivetrain components
- Repair and replace mechanical components such as belts, hoses, bearings, pumps and other worn parts
- Perform engine oil, filter and routine service requirements
- Diagnose engine performance problems and carry out necessary repairs
- Inspect vehicles before and after maintenance
- Carry out troubleshooting and breakdown repairs when required
- Ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy before release for operation
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain proper service records
- Work independently and respond to urgent fleet breakdowns
